The Allegro reduces the fabric printing process to one step

Kornit Digital has unveiled a fabric printer which it states can print onto a range of fabric types using a single ink set, with water-free and biodegradable chemistry and no external pre-treatment or additional finishing required. The manufacturers have emphasised the sustainability credentials of the Allegro machine and NeoPigment process.

ROSH-HA’AYIN, ISRAEL, 26 June 2013 – Leading manufacturer and innovator of digital textile printing solutions, Kornit Digital has taken its revolutionary eco-friendly NeoPigmentTM process into the industrial market with the Allegro roll-to-roll solution, which will be demonstrated at FESPA 2013. Engineered for sustainability, with a water-free printing process, toxin-free chemistry and adherence to the strictest human health and environmental standards, this high-speed 1.8m roll-to-roll fabric system is an integrated one-step production line. It is designed to print onto multiple fabric types, including woven, knitted and non-woven, using a single ink set.

Kornit Digital’s Allegro is the only single-step complete solution in the market for textile printing, integrating multiple process steps with no external pre-treatment or additional finishing being required. This enables users to go from digital file preparation to printing and dry curing in the shortest time possible. The extreme levels of versatility incorporated into the machine make it the most flexible digital textile printing solution, enabling textile printers to answer the call of their customers, the market and the environment.

With print resolution ranging from 400 to 1,200dpi, and a 1.8m maximum width, the Kornit Digital Allegro incorporates Spectra Polaris print-heads configured with up to 64 heads at eight heads/channel. It features seven colours plus an inline ink fixation channel and, in high-speed mode, the system throughputs at 400 square m/hour.

Designed to accommodate an entire printing line in a single step , the exacting build quality of the Kornit Digital Allegro includes a high precision adhesive belt conveyor system, plus an axial unwind with adjustable fabric width and tension mechanisms. Drying is achieved with either a gas or electric Allegro triple pass air-blow unit.

As in its direct-to-garment systems, Kornit Digital’s Allegro also acknowledges the drive for greener and more eco-friendly production, adopting the highest standards to protect human health and the environment. It carries Oeko-Tex Standard 100 approval for babies’ and children’s apparel and the GOTSV3 Standard. Its ink chemistry is 100 per cent biodegradable and it eliminates energy and water consuming processes to make the system the most eco-friendly textile printing solution in the industry.

“The new Kornit Allegro is a revolutionary plug-and-play eco-system with the fastest time to market, able to respond to short-run demands and customised production needs. As more companies are turning to digital production for their textile printing, it has been an exciting and logical move for us to develop this revolutionary system which incorporates our innovative NeoPigment process,” states Ofer Ben-Zur, CEO of Kornit Digital. “We are proud to have developed the new Allegro which gives users the freedom of locating print capabilities closer to the end customer for ultimate supply chain flexibility.”

The Kornit Allegro is being demonstrated on stand G15N at FESPA 2013. It will join the company’s direct-to-garment printers which also incorporate the company’s NeoPigment technology, with all platforms running live jobs which show visitors the benefits of NeoPigment inks and the excellent results which they produce.
